The Garden Wishlist
Next on the list for our house renovations is the garden being landscaped next week and I cannot wait! It’s currently 80% decking and 20% shed, 100% covered in ivy, so it’s pretty impossible to spend time out there at the moment! I’ve been planning ahead on how to make it perfect for the summer months and Dobbies Garden Centre seem to cater for everything I need at there, so I’ll definitely be doing a one shop stop there!
Just outside the back door is a small patio area, that I’m hoping to fill with an abundance of plants and a table for two. This bistro set has caught my eye and will be perfect for relaxing in, surrounded by pretty greenery! We have a bigger, wooden table and chairs that I’m hoping to use for the main patio area - I just need to paint it all up!
My interiors Pinterest board has been in overdrive with hanging baskets - I just love how pretty they look and especially because they’re up out of the way of unruly children and even unrulier cats and foxes we get in the garden! The garden will look all fresh once it’s done that I’m hoping to bring back a more vintage feel with wildflowers in pots and these vintage-looking ceramic hanging baskets will do just the job too.
I’m definitely not a flower expert so I’m hoping to get some advice from staff next time we’re at Dobbies, but I do know that on the small patio area I am desperate for a display like this industrial style plant stand. I think it will look amazing filled with mix and match pots and jars of plants!
And a pretty garden wouldn’t be complete without a fancy new BBQ for all those summer dinners! I’m normally more of a charcoal BBQ fan (I’m not sure why - just seems more authentic!!) but this gas burner one would be perfect for when we have friends and family coming to visit.
Ooo and my top tip is to check out the Dobbies website as alongside all the lovely things you can buy for your home and garden, there’s also a fantastic page full of ideas for gardening with kids. I can’t wait to get Erin and Rory out there to teach them all about our plants and wildlife.
